Weekend Grotesque

Weekend Grotesque is a kind of Swiss-knife typeface that has been initially designed for my own usage (it is the principal typeface used on this website). Like a versatile tool that any craftsman would make for his own usage, to his own taste and needs, all the way from end to end, until it may become useful to others as well.

Design

Weekend Grotesque has all the characteristics of a grotesque sans serif typeface but with a hint of humanistic touch to make it less rigid.

The contrast is mild, just enough to have a monolinear feel without dark blobs at junctions, especially with the Bold weight.
Counters are slightly open with diagonal terminals instead of horizontal ones, typical in grotesque typefaces.
The roundness of the curves and arches brings an extra smooth texture.

Weights & Styles

As of now, there are three weights available: Light, Regular and Bold, with their matching Italic. Eventually, the family will expand and make it to a wider range of weights for even greater variety.
